I am a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute of Astronomy, the University of Cambridge.
I am interested in star clusters, binary stars and making novel inferences on data using machine learning (in a broad sense). Recently, I have
- implemented a forward-modelling method for internal kinematics of star clusters and associations and applied to the nearby Hyades cluster. We find shear signal distinct from the local Oort constants in the tidal tails. [paper] [code]
- characterized a wide binary in which the pattern of chemical abundance differences suggest engulfment of rocky planets in one of the pair. [paper]
- proposed a new way to look for comoving structures using astrometric data such as Gaia. Applying this to Gaia DR1, we found some new clusters within the Solar neighbourhood. [paper] [code] [visualization]
